เลนส์ตัวนี้ขออนุญาตเป็นมินิรีวิวก็แล้วกันนะครับ ได้มานานแล้วแต่ไม่ค่อยได้ใช้ ไหน ๆ กลับมาไลน์นิคอนแล้ว เราจึงต้องมีให้ครบช่วงกันนะครับ สำหรับเลนส์ Ultra-wide แล้ว ผมเลือก Nikkor Z 14-30 f4 S ด้วย 2 เหตุผลหลักคือ S-line และ ราคาครับ เลนส์ในกลุ่มนี้โดยส่วนตัวผมแทบไม่เคยใช้เลย นอนตู้เป็นส่วนมาก ด้วยเหตุผลด้าน optic ว่าเวลาเลนส์จะเก็บภาพกว้างมาก ๆ ทัศนมิติมันจะยิ่งลึกมากขึ้นตามไปด้วย ส่งผลให้เกิดความผิดพลาดในการรับรู้ความลึกและขนาดของวัตถุต่าง ๆ ในภาพ ซึ่งในงานสถาปัตยกรรมจะมีผลมาก และทำให้บรรยากาศของที่ว่างผิดเพี้ยนไป แต่ไหน ๆ ไปเจอมันวางขายมือสองสภาพดีราคาดี มันก็เลยติดตัวกลับมาบ้านด้วยตามระเบียบ วันนี้จะลองเล่นลองวิพากษ์วิจารณ์ให้เพื่อน ๆ พี่ ๆ อ่านกันยามว่างก็แล้วกันครับ
Let's consider this a mini-review of this lens. I've had it for a while but haven't used it much. Now that I'm back using Nikon, I want to complete my range. I chose the Nikkor Z 14-30 f4 S for an ultra-wide lens for two main reasons: the S-line and the price. Personally, I've barely used lenses in this group; they mostly stay in the cabinet. The reason is the optics – when a lens captures a very wide image, the perspective becomes much deeper, leading to errors in perceiving the depth and size of objects in the image. This has a significant impact on architectural work and can distort the atmosphere of the space. However, I found this lens in good condition and at a good price, so I brought it home. Today, I'll play around with it and provide a critique for you to read during your leisure time.

แต่ไหนแต่ไรมาการวัดคุณภาพของเลนส์มุมกว้าง (มาก) ลักษณะนี้มักจะต้องดูความตรงความโค้งกันที่ขอบภาพครับว่ามีความบิดเบี้ยวมากและยังคงรักษาความคมได้มากแค่ไหน แต่ในปัจจุบันผมเชื่อว่าทุกค่าย “หายห่วง” เพราะทั้งเทคโนโลยีเลนส์และซอฟท์แวร์พัฒนาไปมากเสียจนปรับแก้ไขภาพจนตรงเป๊ะ ตั้งแต่บันทึกไฟล์ RAW แล้ว ดังนั้นตรงนี้ไปลองทดสอบกันดู พกกล้องพกเมมโมรี่การ์ดไปลองกันตามร้านได้เลย ที่สำคัญคือควรใช้เลนส์กับกล้องยี่ห้อเดียวกันซอฟท์แวร์มันจะทำงานได้เต็มที่ครับ สมัยก่อนนอกจากเลนส์มุมกว้างมาก ๆ ที่จำต้องรักษาคุณภาพของภาพให้ตรงที่สุดแล้ว ยังมีเลนส์ฟิชอาย (fisheye) ที่ปัจจุบันไม่ค่อยเห็นขายกันมากนัก คือเลนส์มุมกว้างมาก ๆ ที่ปล่อยให้ขอบภาพโค้งไปตามทรงกลม ก็จะได้ภาพที่แปลกตาไปอีกแบบ ส่วนตัวผมเองทั้งเลนส์มุมกว้างมาก ๆ หรือเลนส์ฟิชอาย มันถ่ายได้ภาพสนุกน่าสนใจ แต่หากใช้มากไป หรือใช้ไปนาน ๆ มันจะน่าเบื่อครับ เพราะการจัดองค์ประกอบต่าง ๆ มันจะคล้าย ๆ เดิม มันเก็บมาหมด หรือทุกอย่างก็จะดูเล็ก ๆ ไกล ๆ ไปหมด ทำให้อารมณ์ของภาพแต่ละภาพมันไม่แตกต่างกันมากนัก แต่ถามว่าต้องมีเก็บไว้ไหม ก็ตอบได้เลยว่าต้องมี เพราะในบางสถานการณ์มันจำเป็นครับ หรือถ้าใครไม่ซีเรียสนักก็ยกโทรศัพท์มาถ่ายที่ 0.5x ก็ได้
From the beginning, evaluating the quality of an ultra-wide-angle lens like this often involves examining the distortion and sharpness at the image edges. However, I believe that nowadays, all manufacturers have significantly alleviated these concerns. Both lens technology and software have advanced to the point where images can be corrected precisely, even from the RAW file stage. Therefore, you should test this for yourself – bring your camera and memory card to a store and try it out. It's crucial to use lenses with the same camera brand, as the software works best that way.
In the past, besides ultra-wide lenses that needed to maintain image accuracy, there were fisheye lenses. These lenses allowed the image edges to curve according to the spherical shape, resulting in a unique perspective. While these lenses were once popular, they're now less commonly sold. Personally, I find that both ultra-wide-angle and fisheye lenses can capture fun and interesting images. However, if used too frequently, they can become boring because the composition tends to be repetitive, capturing everything or making everything look small and distant. This makes the emotional impact of each photo quite similar.
But should you have one in your collection? Definitely, because there are situations where it's necessary. Or, if you're not too serious, you can always use your phone with a 0.5x wide angle to capture similar shots.

The exterior appearance of the Nikkor Z 14-30 f4 S looks similar to a standard Nikon lens. It has a front lens diameter of 82mm and weighs 485 grams. Comprised of 14 lenses in 12 groups, it features 4 aspherical lenses. One slightly unique feature of this lens is that it needs to be rotated to the 14mm position before it can be used. Once rotated, the lens extends to the prompt position. This design allows for a more compact size when stored, but when the lens is rotated into the shooting position, it's as long as the 24-120 f4 S lens. Another advantage of this lens is that its front element doesn't protrude, allowing for normal filter usage, unlike some f2.8 lenses where the front element protrudes significantly.

คุณภาพของภาพ ถึงแม้จะเป็นเลนส์ในรุ่นประหยัด แต่คำว่า S-line ยังเชื่อใจได้เสมอครับ ส่วนตัวผมว่า 14-30 f4 ตัวนี้เป็นเลนส์ที่ดี คมยันขอบจริง ๆ ความบิดเบี้ยวเป็นศูนย์ คุ้มค่าตัวมาก ๆ อีกตัวหนึ่งที่นิคอนทำออกมาครับ f4 สำหรับเลนส์ช่วงนี้ก็ไม่ใช่อุปสรรคในการใช้งานทั่วไปแต่อย่างใด เพราะเลนส์กว้างขนาดนี้ไม่ต้องหวังหลังเบลออะไรอยู่แล้ว DOF มันเยอะไปตามความกว้างของเลนส์และกล้องสมัยนี้การจัดการจุดรบกวนเมื่อ ISO สูง ๆ ก็ทำได้ดีมากเพียงพอแล้วครับ
Despite being a lens in the budget range, the image quality is always reliable with the "S-line" designation. Personally, I think this 14-30 f4 lens is excellent. It's sharp throughout the frame, distortion is minimal, and it's definitely worth the investment. Another lens produced by Nikon with an f4 aperture in this range isn't a hindrance for general usage at all. With such a wide lens, there's no need to worry much about background blur; the depth of field is ample according to the width of the lens. Additionally, managing noise at high ISOs is quite achievable with modern cameras.

เลนส์ช่วงนี้ไม่ใช่เลนส์ที่จะเอาไว้ถ่ายภาพบุคคลที่หวังผลคุณภาพนะครับ เพราะสัดส่วนมันจะเพี้ยน และ “ห้าม” เอาไปถ่ายภาพหมู่ที่มีคนซ้อนกันหลาย ๆ แถวนะครับ มันทำให้คนที่อยู่หลังถูกผลักออกไปไกลมากจนแทบจะมองไม่ออกว่าใครเป็นใคร (ภาพล่าง) ทางที่ดี ถ้าพอมีระยะถอยได้ให้ถอยแล้วใช้เลนส์ที่แคบกว่านี้จะดีกว่า
Lenses in this range aren't typically suitable for capturing portraits where you're aiming for optimal image quality. This is because their proportions can distort, and they're generally not recommended for group photos with multiple rows of people. It pushes those in the background far back, almost to the point of being indistinguishable (see bottom image). Ideally, if you have the option to step back and use a narrower lens, that would be better.

สรุปว่า Nikkor Z 14-30 f4 S ก็เป็นเลนส์ที่ดีมากอีกตัวหนึ่งที่สมควรเก็บไว้ “กันเหนียว” ในบางสถานการณ์ หรือถ้าใครชอบมุมกว้างมาก ๆ จัดไปเล่นก็ไม่มีผิดหวัง สำหรับตัวผมเองไม่ค่อยได้ใช้มาก นอนตู้มากกว่า แต่ของมันต้องมี!
In summary, the Nikkor Z 14-30 f4 S is another excellent lens worth adding to your collection for certain situations. It's a great option to have for scenarios where you need to capture expansive scenes or if you're a fan of ultra-wide perspectives. Personally, I haven't used it extensively, but it's one of those lenses you should have in your arsenal for when the occasion calls for it!
